Walkersville- Walkersville Sport and Spine Clinic has opened at 19 West Frederick Street, conveniently located next door to the Town Hall. It is the third location for Dr. Mark Acierno, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, owner of Frederick and Middletown Sport and Spine Clinics.

Mary Lou Thorsen, P.T. will bring services closer to the people in the Walkersville area. Mary Lou has provided formal rehabilitation to patients for over 19 years and states, “I am excited to be able to provide therapy services to those in my hometown, expanding upon the friendly and fun atmosphere, knowledgeable and professional staff in addition to the latest treatment techniques and equipment that Dr. Acierno has already cultivated in his other two clinics.”

All orthopedic diagnoses including rotator cuff injury, knee injuries, sprains and strains, low back pain, joint replacement and other post-surgical diagnoses as well as return to sport programs for all levels of athletes can be provided at all three clinic locations. Ms. Thorsen specializes in neck pain and headache management. She has also completed coursework in Aquatic Therapy which is available at the Frederick clinic only. “When patients improve to the point that aquatic therapy is no longer necessary, they can continue their rehab in the Walkersville office,” Ms. Thorsen said.

All three offices are contracted with most major insurance programs in addition to worker’s compensation claims and auto accident claims.
